Given the significant upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Penn State SBDC has expanded services to provide education, training, and business advising to small businesses experiencing supply chain disruptions, staffing challenges, a decrease in gross receipts or customers, and/or closure during this time. Our Pandemic Support Services will help businesses ensure continuity of operations during periods of interrupted service.
Informational sessions on resources and topics such as emergency loan and grant programs, business resiliency, and starting a new business.
Assistance with loan applications, long-term planning, economic loss estimations, business preparedness, and more.
Support accessing and applying for federal, state, and local lending and grant opportunities, including SBA, USDA and other commercial funding programs.
Strategies to protect intellectual property and mitigate cyber threats such as scams, predatory lenders or other nefarious actors.
Information & tools to protect workplaces, employees and customers against potential health and safety threats.
The R3 program consists of three, 30-day modules:
- Reevaluate: In the first phase of the program, participants will evaluate internal operations by identifying strengths and weaknesses to leverage while planning for the future.
- Redefine: In the second part of the 90-day journey, participants will identify external influences on their business and the opportunities & threats that accompany the external environment.
- Remodel: In the final stages of the process, participants will identify a strategy, design a roadmap, and begin to execute plans for future initiatives.
The program includes three, 2-hour workshops, bi-weekly coaching sessions, and access to a 90-day workbook to guide the business owner through the process of reevaluating, redefining, and remodeling their business with strategic foresight.
